THR is reporting that veteran Hollywood actors and Academy Award winners Al Pacino, Alan Arkin and Christopher Walken will be starring in octogenarian action comedy, Standup Guys. The film was previously known as Old Timers and deals with two long in the tooth criminals, who – after one gets hired to kill the other – decide to have one last night to remember. During the epic night they get up to all sorts of elderly shenanigans, from visiting a brothel to stealing cars, even finding time reflect back on their lives. You know, as one tends to do while dodging police.

I’ve been a fan of Arkin’s for ages, as he one of those actors that has always turned in stellar performances in both TV and film, but somehow never achieved the common household name status of his co-stars. But I have a feeling that most people will be checking out this movie just to see chronic scenery-chewers Pacino and Walken doing their thing together. The last time they were on a film together was the limp and better-off-forgotten Gigli, but they barely shared screen time there.

The film is being directed by Fisher Stevens, who previously also won an Oscar as producer for The Cove, and is expecting to begin shooting in April.
