Another Monday, another tally of box office receipts, as the latest results are in for who beat who have arrived. Unsurprisingly, Dr Seuss is proving to be a name that can print money, while several other debuts arrived with impressive takes.

Let’s have a look at who made it to the top.

The Dr Seuss adventure, The Lorax, came out on top, netting $70.5 million on it’s opening weekend, while the rambunctious tale of teens attempting to throw the ultimate party, Project X, came in second with a healthy $20.5 million.

Navy Seal action flick Act of Valour found itself in third place, with an added 13.3 million added to it’s aresenal, while Safe House came in at fourth with $7.2 million.

Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds fell a few spots to fifth, hauling in another $7 million, while Journey 2: The Mysterious Island found itself flopping to sixth place, one spot ahead of The Vow, earning the two flicks $6.9 million and $6.1 million respectively.

This Means War managed to stay ahead of the flaming skull of Nicholas Cages’ Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, with the two films earning $5.6 million and $3.9 million in their eighth and ninth place positions, while a little well-deserved Oscar award magic kept The Artist in tenth place, grabbing $3.9 million in the process.
