Welcome to The Extras! A daily dose of all the smaller movie related news, clips and just plain cool stuff that you might have missed!

We open today with news that, while merely fanciful conjecture, will still have fanboys the world over suddenly donning their fanfic caps. Talking to an UK radio station, rising star Tom Hardy (Inception, Dark Knight Rises, Bronson), mentioned what he would like to do next with his career. It’s nothing but a complete flight of fancy, but I’ll be damned if it didn’t give me a goofy grin:

“I’d love to play Bond with Chris Nolan (as a) director or something, it would be awesome.”

Awesome? Congratulations Mr Hardy, you just won the “Understatement of the Century” award.

Currently my anticipation levels for Battleship is flatter than Justin Bieber’s cleavage. This is surprising, seeing as I generally like Peter Berg’s work and Taylor Kitsch was just, you know, John Carter. The problem is that – ludicrous boardgame roots aside – it just seems completely derivative of every other sci-fi movie of the last few years. I am hoping that I’ll get surprised though, and this following video – Peter Berg and a few cast members discussing the origins of the alien threat in the species, Goldilocks planets and why we shouldn’t send signals into space – is certainly a step in the right direction as it shows that at least some thought went into it.

Mr Berg also spoke to THR about the link between the film and the original boardgame and this time he is brutally honest about the well, moronic brand recognition that Hollywood has slapped onto this film:

“It certainly doesn’t have any direct correlation to the game. That being said, it was a lot of fun to try to find way to reference the game. If you look at the ordinance that the enemies use, it looks a bit like pegs. Both of our ships’ radar systems have trouble seeing each other, so they gotta try and predict where the enemy is so that they can go after them. And there were some other things that were kind of fun.”

“…a bit like pegs…” and faulty radar systems. That’s about as tenuous a link as I have ever seen.

Continuing on from yesterday’s unearthing of Disney’s not-so-rosy past, you can now watch the full documentary, The Sweatbox, online. This previously unseen film was supposed to be a behind the scenes look at Disney’s creative processes during production on what was to eventually become The Emperor’s New Groove. However Disney pretty much buried the film after the end result painted their executives in an excessively bad light.

Now the rare film has finally surfaced on the net, and it makes for some fairly interesting viewing. I don’t expect Disney to allow this new version of the film to stick around for long, so you better go watch it now:

There are very few female roles in cinemadom as iconic as the Bond girl. It’s an instant pass into that exclusive club of timeless sex symbols, and now Michael Gillette is honouring them with some absolutely stunning artworks. There are tons of prints available for sale over on Electric Works, but here are a couple of gorgeous examples:

Have you been laughing way too much lately? Finding humour in everything you see? Do you need to get serious about life? Well, then boy do I have a treat for you! It’s the new Three Stooges trailer, and this time they’ve been Jackassed! For the low, low price of your sanity, now you too can experience the joys of never laughing again! So what are you waiting for? Try it now!

Contrary to the belief (and livers) of many, it seems that you can actually only get a hangover three times. At least, according to Todd Phillips, who says that his upcoming Hangover 3 will be the last film in the highly successful comedy series:

“We’re going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned. It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions.”

It will actually be pretty easy to surprise me with this film. All they need to do is not show us the exact same damn movie we saw in 2009, you know, like they did with Hangover 2.

There’s a new piece of promo art out for The Lizard from director Marc Webb’s upcoming Spidey reboot, Amazing Spider-Man. While I have been pretty excited for this reimagining of the classic superhero, I haven’t been all that sold on the design of his reptilian adversary. My main concern is the lack of alligator jaws, as the Lizard’s bite was always a prodigious weapon. Now he looks like might just manage a slight nibble on the earlobe. Maybe some tongue action, if you’re lucky.

I’m sure that every time a new badass trailer gets released for Snow White and the Huntsman, the guys working on Tarsem Singh’s decidedly less badass-looking Mirror, Mirror all probably mutter some choice four letter words under their breath followed by something about working on the wrong movie. This new featurette (courtesy of JoBlo) for the film is certainly not helping matters much as it seems to up the slapstickery and down the… well, everything else really.

And finally, I hope you took your motion sickness tablets because today we’re ending on a short film that will be pushing your equilibrium to the max. It’s titled Full Circle and is basically just the clever idea of attaching a camera to a jump rope, so as to allow a full 360 degree view of a central subject. However, creator Callum Cooper’s execution of that idea is something remarkably more striking than that.

And that appears to be all from me today. I’m typing this really fast because I’ve just watched that Full Circle video three times and I’m not feeling so well. My stomach feels all kinds of messed up, so I think I better goijpfgj;dsf df;;adf sap sdqw23
