With The Avengers pretty much wrapped up and awaiting release in a months or so, it’s time to once again focus on films that don’t require titanic team-ups.

With pre-production having started on Iron Man 3, fans can once again expect to see more of Robert Downey Jrs burgeoning alcoholic performance of Tony Stark, the one hero who happens to be far more interesting in his real identity, as compared to his alter-ego.

And he’s bringing a few familiar faces along for the ride.

Feature Film Casting have recently revealed some cast details that also carries a small synopsis for the third film, as Scarlett “lifeless lips” Johansson once again prepares to don a revealing bodysuit, while Don Cheadle returns to bang bro-fists made of titanium and camraderie with Downey.

But perhaps more importantly, Gwyneth Paltrow will also be back, in her delightful Pepper Potts role. As for the storyline, the synopsis on casting call reads as follows;

The storyline is being described by writer-director Shane Black as being a Tom Clancy-thriller, with Iron Man fighting real world villains. Black stated, “the studio wasn’t happy with the result of Iron Man 2, as a result that pretty much came about due to a rushed production schedule in an attempt to hit a release date rather than simply make a good film, but I digress. Iron Man 3 will not be another, ‘two men in iron suits fighting each other.

Yeah, hitting release dates can be detrimental to the success of a film, which is why Iron Man 3 is already being scheduled for a May 3 release next year. Hi hooooh!

    Why is that virtually every article or piece of publicity I’ve seen of Iron Man 3 has thus far given Shane Black alomost minimal mention?

    It’s Shane Black for God’s sake!! 80’s and 90’s cinema as we know it would be vastly changed without him and his involvement is, for me anyway, the only reason I’d bother watching Iron Man 3 in the cinema after the travesty that was the second installment
