ALEX is very CROSS in this first poster and trailer!

We’ve seen the pics of a surprisingly not-womanly looking Tyler Perry facing off against a ridiculously shredded Matthew Fox for this 3rd film based on James Patterson’s popular literary character, Alex Cross, but now we get our first proper look at the two in action.

And oh lerdy lerd! It’s tough cop Madea vs ‘roid raging Jack Shepherd! Surprisingly, nobody gets hit by a handbag or attacked by a pillar of smoke!

Perry appears to be a more action oriented Alex Cross than Morgan Freeman (who played an older version of the character in both Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider) ever was, but I guess when not only is the movie now named after you, but your name now becomes the rather threatening (not really) tagline, that it becomes time to put on your big boy underpants and deliver. Also, when your opponent looks crazier than a fox on PCP, with muscles in places that I didn’t even know existed, following clues and analyzing from afar is far less effective than a 12-gauge shotgun to the face.

Synopsis:

“Alex Cross” follows the homicide detective/psychologist (Tyler Perry), from the worldwide best-selling novels by James Patterson, as he meets his match in a serial killer (Matthew Fox). The two face off in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, but when the mission gets personal, Cross is pushed to the edge of his moral and psychological limits in this taut and exciting action thriller.

I must admit, I found those films interesting at best. At best.

Though the one with Ashley Judd was pretty good, it was in no way challenging.

And then I read a James Patterson book and I realised why the movies are this way.

The books are shite. In fact, it’s really impressive what the films manage given the source material.

Patterson is equal to Dan Brown in dull, plodding, predictable awfulness

EDIT: HOLY GOD that looks cack

I wouldn’t go so far as to say it looks completely horrid, but rather just very average, which is sometimes even worse actually.
