Welcome to The Extras! A daily dose of all the smaller movie related news, clips and just plain cool stuff that you might have missed!

Scientology look-alike, but with a lower thetan level reading, The Master has a new trailer out. Unfortunately, Xenu has yet to see it, but we’re certain our dark lord would approve of it.

“What year is it?!”, you shout at us, dressed in banana leaves, and sprouting a beard that is usually only seen on Middle-Earth Wizards. Well, it’s safe to say that is still indeed reboot year, as Sony is looking to bring back the 1995 board game adventure flick, Jumanji. Just remember, if you roll a four or less, you’re screwed.

Could Batman beat The Avengers, and more specifically, Thor the Thunder God in a fight? Why yes he could, if he told him that he was an atheist, according to this picture from MovieFone. Forsooth!

Damon Lindleloff just loves to tease viewers with his upcoming projects, thanks to a bug he must have picked up while writing scripts for Lost. His next movie script though?

An earthquake flick by the name of San Andreas 3D, which he has been working since last year. The film will see a man travelling across a tectonic-terrorised section of land near the infamous fault, in an attempt to find and rescue his daughter.

Disappointingly, it’s not the Grand Theft Auto movie that we were hoping for then.

The Shining, is one of those films that will etch itself into your sub-conscious, like an axe through a flimsy wooden door. Here’s 11 things you might have not known about the cult film, directed by one sadistic bastard who loved to make his actors suffer.

Look, Looper has a loop-de-loop interactive website now. Round and round we go, where the chronal bus will stop, nobody knows.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace is quite possibly the worst film out of the bunch, a bunch of bantha doo-doo, if you will. But it did have one completely amazing sequence, in the form of pod-racing, a dangerous sport that has more crashes than an entire season of NASCAR.

And now you too can help endanger a child with that crazy future version of Ben-Hur racing, by strapping some turbines onto a baby pram.

Quite possibly one of the most beautiful prints that a film buff will see all day, this collection of movies on a map from UK design studio Dorothy has to be seen to be believed.

The street map features over 900 film titles including Lost Highway, On the Waterfront, Jurassic Park, Reservoir Dogs, Carlito’s Way, Nightmare on Elm Street, Valley of the Dolls and Chinatown.

The Map, which is loosely based on the style of a vintage Los Angeles street map has its own Hollywood Boulevard and includes districts dedicated to Hitchcock and Cult British Horror movies.

Like most cities it also has its own Red Light area. There’s an A-Z key at the base of the Map listing all the films featured with their release dates and names of the directors.

Wondering where all the Uwe Boll films are? Look for the worst seweres known to mankind.

Olivia Thirlby has described her role in Dredd to be like “Playing Laser Tag But With Huge Production Values”, which makes me wish for a day where we can pump millions of Rands into making Nerf gun battles unreasonably dangerous.

Legendary actor Peter O’Toole has called it a day and hung up his acting coats. If you don’t happen to know who the man is, consider yourself shunned until you have a look at five of his most incredible performances.

Big Trouble in Little China is an amazing film that I have yet to see, earning me the other of all ostracisations from my colleagues. And until I do, that won’t change, but for the rest of you who have watched the film into infinity and beyond, here’s 34 things you may not have known, based on the directors commentary.

Have you ever had a burning desire to watch The Wire, but performed with Lego? It’s safe to say, that specific, blocky itch, has finally been scratched.
