With The Hunger Games cleaning up nicely at the box office this year, it was only a matter of seconds before a sequel was greenlit, in the form of Catching Fire.

Lionsgate has a potential license to print money with this franchise, and they’re not stopping with a second film, as they’ve already tapped some talent to help turn the third book in the dystopian series into a two part film.

Danny “Game Change” Stron has been recruited for the upcoming third and fourth Hunger Games rounds, straight off of his success for winning two Emmy awards for his work on on the Sarah Palin TV Movie and The Butler.

While Catching Fire deals with the Aftermath of Katniss Everdeen surviving the brutal games and an air of rebellion simmering within the disenfranchised millions under the iron fist of the Capitol, Mockingjay continues that story, building further on those threads and the relationship between Katniss and the people in power.
It’s already got a release date set for the next set of films, as Mockingjay part one will be out on November 21 2014, with part two following a year later on November 20.

Francis Lawrence is currently directing Catching Fire, but it’s unclear yet whether or not he’ll return for more Hunger Games.
