Because of those four scenarios, any of them would be preferable to watching another “parody” film directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer again. And this time, they’ve got The Hunger Games in their cross-hairs.
Movie molesters Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer are indeed back, as their next attempt to murder cinema will be called The Starving Games. As usual, they won’t just be targeting one film for a merciless barrage of cheap jokes and gags that ran out of fashion several years ago, but will include other recent blockbusters as well.
For those of you who are unaware of them, they’re the twosome behind such modern day disasterpieces such as Date Movie, Disaster Movie, Meet the Spartans and Vampires Suck.
So Avengers, Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes fans beware, because once again, there most likely won’t be a single iota of funny in their project. Heat Vision has reported that the duo have found their lead actress in Maiara “The Vampire Diaries” Walsh, who will play the role Kantmiss Evershot…sweet Christmas but that is lazy.
In addition to Walsh, Brant “Pretty Little Liars” Daugherty will play the parody version of Gale, with shooting scheduled to begin later this week in New Orleans.

Interesting question. I think the thing about those films was that they relied on humour that pointed out tropes and stereotypes that Hollywood constantly used.
The joke came from audiences recognising the stereotype and the stereotype/ trope being subverted somehow i.e. parody.
The problem is that these days, audiences are pretty savvy as to the stereotypes that Hollywood practices, partly because of the parody films like Naked Gun, hot shots, Blazing Saddles and also things like Mad Magazine.
Most audiences are pretty aware of those stereotypes and it’s hard to make a really funny joke when everyone already knows the punchline

No I won’t believe it. My brain refuses to acknowledge that we live in such a topsy turvy world where Vampires Suck is a success but Dredd completely tanks.
