Welcome to The Extras! A daily dose of all the smaller movie related news, clips and just plain cool stuff that you might have missed!

Right, lets get the dirty bit out of the way (and no, I did not just quote a Black Eyed Peas song). If hearing Jason Sudeikis use rather creative language to discuss Kristen Bell’s lady parts is your kind of thing, then you’re simply going to love this new NSFW spot for anthology comedy, Movie 43. The movie features just about everybody in Hollywood who wasn’t too strung out on cocaine to show up for the audition, in a number of sketches directed by multiple directors.

If you’ve been eagerly looking forward to Michael Shannon uttering the immortal “Kneel before Zod” line in Man of Steel, well then you’re in for some disappointment. While in an interview with VH1 (via SuperheroHype), Shannon was asked about the line made famous by Terence Stamp in Superman II, to which he simply replied “I don’t say that in the movie.”

Am I the only one that heard that line in my head in Nelson Van Alden’s voice?

Soon to be Winter Soldier, Dominic Cooper, has joined the previously announced Aaron Paul and Imogen Poots in videogame adaptation Need For Speed. Along with the casting news, we also get some plot details which means that contrary to popular belief this will have more than just people driving suped up cars really fast. Ok, probably not that much more, but it’s something at least.

The film will apparently see Paul as “an underground racecar driver who owns a garage that modifies expensive cars to make them faster for racing. Framed and sent to prison when his best friend is murdered during a race, he seeks revenge upon his release.

Cooper will play the other male lead of Dino, an ex-NASCAR driver who uses his connections to the wealthy to create a business rebuilding and modifying supercars. Imogen Poots, [will] play an exotic car dealer who does business with Paul and Cooper.”

Because when I look at Imogen Poots, I immediately think “Used car salesman!”

No, this picture below is not actually not from Darryn’s family reunion this year, but rather one of 7 new behind-the-scenes pics for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey that you can find over on CBM.

Javier Bardiem dropped by Collider where he spoke about why he chose to do Skyfall, how he created his character of Raul Silva, and also what it’s been like working on Ridley Scott’s The Counselor.

According to Marvel creator turned cameo actor extraordinaire Stan Lee, a Blank Panther and Dr. Strange movie is definitely in development. When asked the question during an interview with District, Stan “The Man” responded thusly:

“Oh they are all being made into movies! I can tell you there will definitely be a Dr. Strange movie! They are working on Antman, which requires really small cameras! Black Panther is being developed, one of my favorites…the Inhumans…All the hero’s will eventually be made into movies.”

Excelsior! Unfortunately, Lee then brought his own credibility as a source into doubt when he answered the question of what his duties are as Executive Producer at Marvel Studios.

“None whatsoever, I have very little control. I don’t see the script, occasionally I will have lunch with the director or a star, like the guy making Antman, I don’t remember his name- I don’t remember names, or Robert Downey Jr., for Ironman and we talk about the characters. But all I do for the movies are the cameos really. Then when the movie comes out I am excited to see it just like all of you. I’m seeing it for the first time.”

Thanks to some snap-happy fans at Inside the Magic, we get our first look at Tom Hanks on set as Walt Disney at Disneyland, where director John Lee Hancock is currently shooting Saving Mr. Banks. The movie tells the tale of how Disney took years to convince British author P.L. Travers to sell him the rights to her Mary Poppins story.

Also posted was this photo portrait comparison of the real Disney and Hanks, which goes to show that while a moustache makes some men look like dignified grandfathers, it makes others look like they’re not allowed within 100 meters of a school.

Working Title Studios have picked up the film rights from Robopocalypse author Daniel H. Wilson’s Amped and have apparently landed I, Robot and Dark City director Alex Proyas to helm the feature. The film was originally set up at Summit Entertainment in 2011, but their rights lapsed after they merged with Lionsgate. Here’s the official blurb for the book:

Technology makes them superhuman. But mere mortals want them kept in their place. People are implanted with a device that makes them capable of superhuman feats. The powerful technology has profound consequences for society, and soon a set of laws is passed that restricts the abilities — and rights — of “amplified” humans. On the day that the Supreme Court passes the first of these laws, twenty-nine-year-old Owen Gray joins the ranks of a new persecuted underclass known as “amps.” Owen is forced to go on the run, desperate to reach an outpost in Oklahoma where, it is rumored, a group of the most enhanced amps may be about to change the world — or destroy it.

Kristin Stewart is apparently in talks to star opposite Ben Affleck in Crazy, Stupid, Love directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s new film, Focus. The movie will deal with a conman who developed a romantic relationship with a young criminal who was still learning the ropes, but now they meet up years later and their past catches up to them. Expect much scowling.

The feature film adaptation for 70’s Comic book Elfquest has been languishing in developmental hell for ages now, but it seems that somebody just cast a lvl 30 Resurrection on this project. Variety is reporting that producers Stephanie Thorpe and Paula Rhodes have picked up the rights, and to show off their vision for the property, they’ve made this short film.

And if that piques your interest, you can go read every single issue of Elfquest over on its official website.

The Texas Alamo Drafthouse just keeps on proving why they’re the greatest cinema house in the world. On top of their already implemented “No talk/No text” policy, they’re now also about to enforce a new rule that prohibits any late comers from entering the cinema. Yay! No more blocked screens, squashed toes and butts in faces, as those inconsiderate folks try to squeeze by you in the dark.

Quite simply, no one will be seated once the film has begun. If you show up after the feature starts, you have missed it. The plane has left the terminal. If you bought in advance we can apply your ticket to another show or refund your money but you will not be admitted into the theater.

If a film starts at, say, 7:30 PM, you’re welcome to arrive anytime up to then, head comfortably to your waiting seat and enjoy the show, content in the knowledge that the only people you’ll see drifting past you in the darkness are our stealthy, ninja-like waitstaff. No more clumsy latecomers stepping on your Reeboks and fumbling up your elbows as they squint at their menus in the dark and chat with their server about the beer specials during the movie’s crucial opening scenes.

Yes. You read correct. Beer specials brought to you by ninjas.

This morning saw the culmination of the second most important debate happening in the world, as America voted in Barack Obama for a second term as president. Meanwhile, the most important debate in the world, “Who Should Direct Star Wars: Episode VII”, rages on. While Alfonso Cuaron is my candidate of choice, I must admit that  this campaigning video from the Unlearning Channel calling on you to vote for Brad Bird is pretty compelling.
