I was late to the party on this one, but a couple of weeks ago, I finally got the chance to slip in a Blu-Ray and enjoy the big screen adaptation of Tintin: The secret of the Unicorn.
And blue blistering barnacles, did I love it! That first entry was directed by Steven Spielberg, with The Hobbit director Peter Jackson producing, which means that the sequel will see a switcheroo in job posts. So when does Jackson start work on a second Tintin film, considering that he has a mad schedule in Middle Earth? Pretty soon actually.
Speaking to RYTBF via Bleeding Cool for a press tour on The Hobbit, Jackson confirmed that the next xhapter in the Tintin saga would start next year, as he was preparing to to shoot the motion capture footage needed for the CGI flick with his actors.

It’s so worthwhile. Quite a few nods to the other books, are hidden inside that film.

It’s a great ride. It does favour action over character a little bit too much, but what a spectacle it is. Also, at the time it came out, possibly the best CGI visuals on display bar none.
If you have the Blu Ray, the behind the scene features are also amazing and see how they actually pulled off the groundbreaking mo-cap work is a huge eye opener.
