Despite what you might think, The Fast and Furious 6 will actually have a script that includes more than just “VROOM VROOM! Down shift! NOS! VRRRRRROOOOOOM!”. The Justin Lin directed pic will have a lot to live up to, as the previous installment was not only the best in the franchise, but a damn fine heist move on it’s own. And now thanks to this newly released synopsis, teaser poster and TV spot (phew, those folks have been busy!) we finally see how Vin Diesel and friends are going to try and top their previous adventure.

Since Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian’s (Paul Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Dwyane Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Luke Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez).

The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

They just want to be with families? Aw, how sweet?!

Seriously though, that looks like it’s taking the special brand of vehicular heist mayhem that was established in the last film and just running with it, upping the stakes along the way. Which is something that I am completely happy with.

And yes, they did just take down a cargo plane with a couple of cars.

Fast and Furious 6 will be drifting into theatres on May 24th, 2013
