Ben Stiller is going to be spending a third NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM

Because why not? The night at the museum films may not be Oscar material, but hell, at least they’re fun. Rumours of a third outing for the Ben Stiller starring vehicle have been around since 2010, when co-writer Thomas Lennon mentioned that he was working on a third film with Robert Ben Garant, but the busy schedules of Stiller and director Shawn Levy kept the project on hold.

Now though, it seems that they’re ready to move forward with Night number tres, as 20th Century Fox wants to get the ball rolling for a Christmas 2014 release.

Stiller will indeed be back as Larry Daley, the security guard who had it all and then gave it up to hang out with dead people once a night thanks to some Egyptian hoodoo magic, according to Empire. Shawn Levy is also back on directing duties, and that’s about all we know.

So which museum will Daley be hanging out this time? The Louvre? Madam Tussards wax museum? The Icelandic Phallological Museum with the massive dong? Who knows. Hopefully we’ll see a few familiar faces as well, such as Robin William’s Teddy Roosevelt rough-riding to the rescue in a more substantial role when the film arrives next year.

I cannot get myself to dislike Stiller. Dunno if I’d watch this, though. that said, I doubt there is a single person out there who is a fan of ALL his work. You usually like either Tropic Thunder/Zoolander Stiller or Museum/Meet The Parents Stiller.
