Check out the battle school symbols for ENDER’S GAME

Kids, I hate to break it to you, but the Sorting Hat is like sooooo 2012. These days, it’s all about the super prestigious military academies that train youngsters to take down the lethal insectoid alien forces known as the Formics. And like any good hostel stocked with Marie biscuits, there are houses for students to join and be a part of.

Here’s a look at those very houses, and their insignia in the upcoming Ender’s Game.

Based on the Orson Scott Card novel, the film picks up with Ender, a shy kid with the potential to become the greatest tactician the world has ever seen. Joining him for the Formic fight are his fellow cadets, as well as grumpy colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and waritme veteran and legend Major Rackham (Ben Kingsley). Of course, wars don’t have fairy tale endings, something that Ender has to learn to deal and cope with as he loses allies along the way to help decide the fate of the human race.

Four armies, four symbols in Ender’s Game. Ender himself is part of the Salamander army, which is the first image below. This is followed by the crests for the Dragon, Rat and Asp armies via Enderwiggen, Ender’s News, Ender’s Ansible and Ender’s Game Fansite. The film is out in October, and is directed by Gavin Hood.

Isn’t that the girl from True Grit in that photo? Nice cast this film has assembled

Yep, that’s Haylee Steinfeld. She was easily my favourite thing from True Grit, a complete pleasant surprise, so I’ve been looking forward to what she’ll do next for ages now.

Yeah that’s Haylee Stanfield. She was the biggest surprise in True Grit, so very interested in what she does next.

Maybe I’m a bit rusty in remembering the book, but the different teams played very little of a role. Or rather, they weren’t such a big deal to suddenly ape ideas from Harry Potter or The Hunger Games…
