Russell Crowe talks MAN OF STEEL

Who’s your daddy Kal-El? While uttering lines like that would most likely put me in the running for worst father ever, it would most likely work out just fine for Kryptonian pap Jor-El. Especially if Russell Crowe is in the acting seat.

Man of Steel hits cinemas the middle of the year, and like a speeding bullet, the hype is starting to build. Here’s Crowe himself, making movies, making songs, and talking about the role. Russell Crowe!

Alongside co-star Amy Adams, Crowe popped up on the Tonight Show with wonder chin Jay Leno, where he used the general movie shpiel to get the point across about how super-fantabulous the movie will be. But it’s the anecdote he uses about his own son, that put a fresh perspective on his role:

It’s a reboot of the franchise with Zack Snyder who did the 300 film, with a young English fellow called Henry Cavill as Superman or Kal-El as I call him because he’s my son. Yeah, times have changed, I’m Superman’s dad.

I said to my son Charlie, ‘I’m going to be Superman’s dad in the movie, so if I’m Superman’s dad what does that make you?’ and he got really excited and said ‘Superman’s brother?’

Leno also took the time to have some fun with Crowe, by showing off his action figure for the usual merchandising that will accompany the movie, something which Crowe labelled as “ridiculous” jokingly. Man of Steel is out in June, and also stars Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Michael Kelly, Harry Lennix and Richard Schiff.
