Knowing me, knowing you, isn’t just a catch-phrase in Britain. It’s also the calling card of the very British creation of Steve Coogan, Alan Partridge. He’s the anti- Ron Burgundy, but with a Union Jack flavour and even more lingering mental issues wrapped up in a blanket of one-upsmanship.
Partridge has been knocking around radio, TV and the Web now, but has yet to make a feature film appearance. Until now that is. Because Alan Partridge is your Alpha Papa in this very meta-teaser trailer.
Looks like Alan is still bumming around radio stations, it seems. With the trailer revealing the name of the film to be Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa and not Alan Partridge: Colossal Velocity disappointingly, it also looks like Tim Key will be back as his beleaguered sidekick from the well received web series.
Alpha Papa began shooting earlier this year in Norfolk, and will deal with Partridge’s radio station being on the verge of a hostile takeover by corporate types. Somehow, this all devolves into a shootout and a massive car chase scene involving the radio host.
Alpha Papa also stars Felicity Montagu, Simon Greenall and Phil Cornwell, and is out in August in the UK.
