When I first saw Kick Ass, I just knew that the film would go on to actually inspire people to don costumes and go fight crime in their neighborhoods. And I was totally right, despite the fact that the movie itself was an advertisement for why doing such a thing was a very, very bad idea. Ain’t that right Phoenix Jones?
And anyone who has read the sequel comics to Kick Ass, knows that that very idea is once again put in the spotlight, as a pro-spandex lifestyle choice can easily spiral out of control. We’ve already seen a red band trailer for the film that showcases Jim Carrey encouraging his dog to reenact Crisis on Finite Balls. Here’s a few new character posters then to introduce the heroes and villains.
Cine 1 has the posters above, which reveals what appears to be Kurt Russell playing the muscled hench-lady lead of Mother Russia in this film. Kick Ass 2 picks up a few years after the first film, where former heroes Kick Ass and Hit Girl are trying to juggle a normal life with an urge to dress up and fight crime once again.
When Kick Ass gets involved with his own super-hero group, Justice Forever, things are finally starting to look up for him. Until his first nemesis and former pal Red Mist returns, re-branding himself as The MotherF$%3er, the first super-villain.
He’s got an army of thugs, and they’re all equipped with enough money and evil alter-egos to help him get some revenge on Kick Ass and co. Kick Ass 2: Balls To The Wall stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Morris Chestnut, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison and Jim Carrey, with Jeff Wadlow directing.
