I’m pretty sure that Gore Verbinski’s new Lone Ranger is supposed to a big budget action blockbuster, right? Hell, lets just call a spade a spade: it’s Pirates of the Caribbean in the desert with horses. And yet, if you were to ignore the trailers released thus far and just look at any of the promo images released, you’d swear this is some indie-styled, arty-farty western that in fact doesn’t star a crazy man with a dead bird for a hat. And these newly released images for the film are no different.

Luckily, along with those classy shots, we get two new character posters for the film’s two leads, Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp, which reminds us that washing and shaving wasn’t really big in the Wild West.

“The Lone Ranger” is a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

These new images come courtesy of the film’s Facebook page, and along with these examples of Verbinski’s flair for cinematography, comes the announcement that we should be expecting a new trailer for the film on April 17, which is just around the corner.

The Lone Ranger will be Hi-Ho Silvering it’s way into cinemas on June 3, 2013.
