It’s been nearly a week and I’m still struggling to get my epidermis back into it’s original configuration after listening to the goosebumps inducing first released track from Hans Zimmer’s Man of Steel soundtrack last week. And now, just when I’m starting to not look a plucked chicken anymore, along comes this preview of the full soundtrack to start the process all over again.
So you may have read the story this morning about how Jurassic Park 4 may just be shelved. You may have also cried a little. Well, now thanks to this press release from Universal (about the the movie’s status, not your crybaby ways) we can confirm that the movie has indeed been put on hold (Ok, you can start crying again). According to the statement though, it’s only been delayed and not shelved indefinitely, which is contrary to the unofficial statements from the production.
In coordination with filmmakers, Universal has decided to release Jurassic Park 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal’s beloved franchise. We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise’s storied history.
Here’s a new Red Band trailer for the Coen Bros’ next film, Inside LLewyn Davis. Firstly, this film looks to be far more straight faced and non-Coen-quirky than any of their previous works, and secondly, I actually can’t see much difference between this trailer and the originally released one. Ah well.
Looks like The Man from U.N.C.L.E. has found his girl. Rapidly rising Swedish actress Alicia Vikander, has apparently landed the leading female gig opposite placentavore Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp’s sidekick, Armie Hammer, in Guy Ritchie’s rebooted feature film adaptation of the classic 60’s spy series. Vikander will be playing a new character not from the original series, a British agent with a thing for cars.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is definitely not monkeying around (mainly because monkeys aren’t apes) when it comes to the cast of Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated sequel, and joining the already impressive group will be celebrated British actor Toby Kebbell. Along with the casting announcement, also come a new official synopsis for the film.
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
Yesterday we saw the first glimpses of footage from Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity, and today we have a new poster for the film. Hey, Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, there’s a Mexican man drinking a Red Bull over here, who says that letting go is not such a big deal.
It simply boggles my mind that after years of superhero movies, people still don’t know that they should stay till after the credits for an extra scene. If you’re one of those, who make a beeline for the exit before the first credit even appears on screen, then JoBlo are here to help. They’ve apparently heard of a rather intriguing cameo that happens in the post-credits sequence of The Wolverine, and would like to tell you about it, SPOILERS be damned.
Now that John Cusack has decided to get out of the hot and dry himself off, Parks and Recreation‘s Adam Scott is apparently in talks to replace him as leading man in Hot Tub Time Machine 2. Scott will play a completely new character for the time-travelling comedy sequel, but will still be joined by original co-stars Craig Robinson, Rob Cordry and Clark Duke.
Going for job interviews suck. Especially when they ask you that stupid “Where do you see yourself in 2 years?” question (apparently “inside your wife” is an answer that most interviewers don’t find as funny as I did). I’ve never been asked the “you are a 2-inch tall man stuck at the bottom of a blender, what do you do?” question, but I think I could probably do a better job of answering than Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in this clip from upcoming comedy, The Internship.
You just have to love people with confidence in their project. You also have to point and laugh at those people when their projects fail dismally. Summit Entertainment is tempting fate with the latter, as they’ve already begun work on Insurgent, a sequel to their YA adaptation, Divergent, which only started filming a couple weeks ago. The studio has apparently hired Brian Duffield to pen the sequel’s script.
I’m already warming up my very best “Ha haa!” for this.
I’m sure that a lot of you are thinking of re-reading F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby before Baz Luhrmann’s crazy adaptation rolls into cinemas, complete with 3D effects and a Jay-Z soundtrack.
