Hey you! Yeah, you with the face! Thanks for sending out those tweets with the hashtag #coulsonlives! As a result of the massive response from fans doing this, Marvel have now unlocked an extended, almost 3-minute long trailer for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., their TV spinoff series from Marvel’s #1 man and Geek Overlord, Joss Whedon.

This new trailer is packed to the rafters with Whedony goodness, from familiar faces to snappy dialogue, so what are you waiting for? Hulk smash that play button!

Sweet Christmas, that looks good! And I’m just going to go right out and call it: I think Whedon alum J. August Richards (Angel) is actually Luke Cage. Richards certainly looks like a younger Cage and his powers (what we can see of them in the trailer) seem to fit. Also it makes perfect sense to introduce the more street-level Cage like this, instead of his own movie.

And if it turns out that that is Cage, well then that might just mean that we could also get to see his Heroes For Hire partner, Iron Fist, at some point in time. And you guys know how much I love me some Iron Fist!

We’re going to have to wait to September for some answers though, when Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuts on ABC.

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.

Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).

From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (Marvel’s The Avengers, ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.
