So remember that movie Lindsay Lohan made with a porn star? Here's the first official trailer plus some NSFW images

Lindsay Lohan’s downward spiral from child stardom into WTF-dom is well documented. So when she signed on to star in The Canyons, a film penned by American Psycho writer Bret Easton Ellis and directed by Paul Schrader, the guy who wrote Taxi Driver and directed American Gigolo, it almost sounded like she was finally getting her professional life back together. But then came the addition of porn star James Deen, the horror stories of working with Lohan, and the first snippets of footage from the film that looked it was made by a teenage boy who had just figured out to record videos of his friends using his cellphone.

And now the first trailer has officially been released, and well, clearly all the film’s budget was spent on whomever put this trailer together.

Christian is a young LA trust-fund dude who’s financing a horror film simply to keep his dad off his back about doing something with his life. He has been dating Tara for about a year — she was an aspiring actress/model who settled down with him when the reality of the business became apparent to her. She’s now just Christian’s bored plaything. Christian’s assistant Gina is casting the film with assistance from Tara. Gina is pushing Ryan, her boyfriend and struggling actor, for the lead. Unbeknownst to either Christian or Gina, Ryan and Tara were a couple three years ago. When Ryan came back into Tara’s life during the auditions for the movie, they reignited their affair. But Christian, a dangerous control-freak, finds out about the affair and starts playing cruel mind games with both Tara and Ryan, which escalate into an act of bloody violence

Wow. Whomever put that trailer together is a true maestro. If I had never seen or heard anything about this film before, I would actually have been intrigued to see it based solely on this bit of promo. Unfortunately, I have seen and heard things from this movie, specifically how the film contains acting performances less natural than most vacuum cleaner infomercials, and how just about everybody who saw it on the Festival circuit earlier in the year thought it was utter rubbish.

But hey, at least you’ll get to see Li-Lo’s boobies!

Speaking of Lindsay’s naughty bits, along with the trailer, this collage of images, some of them very NSFW, was also released in the latest issue of Film Comment (via The Playlist).
