We’ve seen quite a bit of Grandmaster footage so far, albeit all of that footage consisting of a single fight scene where the legendary Ip Man activates a cheat code and then proceeds to increase the brain damaged populace of China by several hundred percent.
There’s a new trailer out, and if you guessed that it includes that same rain-drenched footage well then you’re quite spot-on and stop spying on me as I type this. I’m not decent. But there’s new fisticuffs action included as well, along with a spiffy English voice-over.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Wong Kar Wai, THE GRANDMASTER is an epic action feature inspired by the life and times of the legendary kung fu master, Ip Man. The story spans the tumultuous Republican era that followed the fall of China’s last dynasty, a time of chaos, division and war that was also the golden age of Chinese martial arts.
Tony Leung is looking damn lethal as the legendary Ip Man, alongside fellow cast members Zhang Ziyi and Wang Qingxiang. There’s newer action in this trailer, and it’s all been beautifully shot so far. There’s no local release date for the film though, but it will be out in the US of A on August 23. Expect this one to be revenge-punching the life out of DVD cases when it finally arrives on our shores.

Still feels like it will be choking with slo-mo shots. I’m not really excited, but I’m suffering from Ip Man fatigue…

What do you think will be the possibility of getting an un-edited version of this in SA. Meaning getting one with English Subs, that does not get touched by the Americans?
