IGOR, IT’S ALIVE!… And it’s multiplying?! 2013 seems to be the year of Frankenstein, with (at last count) six different productions on the way either adapting or taking their inspiration from Mary Shelley’s famed literary creation. The one with the highest profile would undoubtedly be Stuart “Tomorrow When the War Began” Beattie’s I, Frankenstein, but how can you tell that one apart from the rest?

Well, as we learned last week, its the one where Aaron Eckhart just has a mild rash and is somehow now a monster. And you can check him out along with some real monsters on these new posters released especially for this weekend’s Comic-Con 2013.

Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein’s creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality. From the creators of the hit supernatural saga, “Underworld,”comes the action thriller “I, Frankenstein,” written for the screen and directed by Stuart Beattie based on the graphic novel “I, Frankenstein” by Kevin Grievous, and brought to life by a cast that includes Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young as Victor Frankenstein.

This whole “slap a couple scars on a handsome leading man and call him a monster” thing is still very, very silly, but at least it looks ol’ Two-Face will have some real beasties to battle (apparently using killer painting palettes) when the film releases on January 14, 2014.

Before then though, those folks lucky enough to find themselves at Comic-Con this Saturday, 20 July, could get a glimpse of said battle, as Lionsgate will have some of the film’s cast on-hand to screen some never-before-seen footage of the film.
