Welcome to The Extras! A daily dose of all the smaller movie related news, clips and just plain cool stuff that you might have missed!

Ever called somebody and just started talking without realizing that you’ve actually called the wrong number? Embarrassing, right? Now imagine you accidentally called somebody with a particular set of skills that he wants to use to find you and kill you. That’s the case in this first installment in a new webseries called Movie Phone Mangler.

Hey, look, a Star Wars story that isn’t just rampant thumb sucking and straw clutching! Disney has been using their popular cartoon Phineas and Ferb to cross over with their recent big name acquisitions, first with Marvel’s The Avengers and they’ll also do a Star Wars mashup. Phineas and Ferb creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh revealed just how they were going to insert the funnily-shaped headed characters into the existing Star Wars mythos.

“All of [the plot of A New Hope] happens exactly the way it did, but we find out that Phineas and Ferb are Luke’s neighbors on Tatooine and become embroiled in the adventure,” Marsh said. “Our story all takes place as if you had a slightly wider shot, you could see our characters. Or if you just waited around five minutes after this [Star Wars] storyline, our characters would pass through, which was really really fun to do.”

With the cartoon special actually making use of the exact scenes we’ve come to know and love, Disney have needed to find replacement actors to re-record the dialogue, as Povenmire explains.

“The Star Wars actors are now all 40 years older, so they don’t sound quite the same, so we’re trying to find people who sound like they did when they were young,” Povenmire said. “The guy we had come in to do Harrison Ford sounded so much like young Harrison Ford. It was like, if you didn’t look up you thought, ‘We have Harrison Ford in the booth!’”

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but apparently “they” got it wrong. It’s actually a thieving little person according to this new poster for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. Along with this posted comes a new pic that looks eerily similar to Darryn’s last family day at the beach.

Ever fancied doing some breaking and entering into the house of an unstable telekinetic? Well, then this new Carrie website is just for you, as it allows users to sneak into and look around the White home.

So remember that story about Hugh Jackman being offered $100 million for four more appearances as Wolverine? Yeah, that’s not happening.

“No it’s not true. I would never do that. I’ve never done that mainly because, for the fans and for me, each time I’ve gone around there’s been a really good reason to do it and I don’t know what that reason is from here. I’m in the middle of making this and I just promoted the other and I’m really happy with the way The Wolverine came out.”

Alright, STOP! Because it’s apparently hammer time according to these new images from Spike Lee’s Oldboy remake. And for anybody who’s seen the original, it’s perfectly acceptable if you’re now feeling a bit queasy about that pic of Josh Brolin eyeballing that octopus.

Are you an actor/actress who wants to win the biggest award in the business? It’s easy! Just show the world your naughty bits, as you can see with this list of 15 Oscar Winning Nude Scenes.

So this weekend past saw Las Vegas being taken over by a bunch of geeks for the Star Trek 2013 Convention. And while there, the Trekkies (or sorry, Trekkers) got together to rank all 12 Star Trek movies from best to worst. And bringing up the rear, with the lowest votes? JJ Abrams’ latest sequel Star Trek Into Darkness. Now, while I enjoyed the film, I can completely see the argument as it’s really not much of Star Trek movie. The folks at Hollywood.com agree wholeheartedly and have written down all their reasons why.

Pro-tip: If you’re shooting a movie with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, like say, Hercules, then you need to watch out or you might just get… er… eaten?

On a movie set we have a “Prop Supervisor” who’s job is to make sure everything’s 100% perfect before the Assistant Director yells..”Aaand ACTION”. Today we have Prop Supervisor Mickey who’s ensuring the drapes are perfectly still for our take once I get in position. What Mickey doesn’t know is I’m a beast w/ a vice grip and once my hands get ahold of you.. you become my lunch.#MickeyLivesAnotherDay #LeatherCanBeRestricting#GottaSumHaveFun #HERCULESMovie

Are you one of those people that consider the final installment in Francis Ford Coppola’s Godfather Trilogy to be inferior to the previous two? Firstly, you’re probably right, and secondly, you have no idea just how much worse it could have been. “Tell us how much worse, Kervyn!”, I hear you scream in your warbling falsetto voice. Well how about The Godfather Part III as a Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer produced 80’s action movie starring Sylvester Stallone as Michael Corleone’s grown-up son now holding his father’s criminal empire together through big-ass guns and one-liners?

You can read all about that and some more crazy movie ideas that nearly happened on Hitfix’s list of their 15 Favourite Near Misses in Hollywood History.

If you watch Family Guy, then you should be familiar with Peter Griffin’s often very violent rivalry with Ernie the Chicken. The pair have had some truly legendary tussles over the years. So with this being the internet and all, somebody – in this case, stunt women Jessie Graff and Tree O’Toole – have created their own version, called Epic Chick Fight, and never before has a video’s description been more accurate. This is simply awesome stuff!

Y’know, I consider myself a huge Sylvester Stallone fan, and I have to admit I have not seen one of the Godfather movies, but even I cringe at the possibility at what could have been the Godfather 3
