Hunger fire (15)

I have a confession to make: I still haven’t watched The Hunger Games. I’m going to blame it on me being lazy, and having an aversion to Young Adult films. That, and there’s a lady with way too much make-up on in those trailers who freaks me the hell out. Still, my not having bought a ticket didn’t impact heavily on the worldwide box office of that film, to the tune of $691 million.

A sequel is on the way, and it’s almost here in fact. So set yourself ablaze with these new Catching Fire pics.

With most of the cast dead from the first film (Hey, that’s how death-matches go), the sequel has a bunch of new characters to introduce. And I’m pretty certain that one of these new characters is a vampire.. Anyway, show and tell time!

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

Sounds like a solid film. Maybe this weekend, I’ll need to fire up the ol’ Netflix and finally watch the first film, and get over my clown make-up phobia. Catching Fire is out in November, and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, Woody Harrelson, Jena Malone, Philip Seymour Hoffman and many many more actors.

Francis Lawrence directs.

  1. Gotta admit I read the books, not for the fact I really enjoyed them, but that decent sci-fi( that I haven’t read) is hard to find, the books where kinda “Meh!”. So the film does not appeal to me. On another note; looking forward to see how the “Agents of Shield” series turns out though. And also, for something totally different, “Brooklyn 99” cause I dig Andy from SNL…

Movie wasn’t that bad, but would have preferred more out of the deathmatches and less “team-ups”
