Non Stop (5)

Oh Liam Neeson. First you murdered your way across most of Europe, single-handedly reducing the population of the world with kickass and guns. And now, you’re going to murder the sky, aren’t you? Yep, Despite being old enough to be my grandad, Neeson is back in Non-Stop, a film where he faces the most terrifying evil of all time:

Economy class seating on an international flight.

During a transatlantic flight from New York City to London, U.S. Air Marshal Bill Marks (Neeson) receives a series of cryptic text messages demanding that he instruct the airline to transfer $150 million into an off-shore account.  Until he secures the money, a passenger on his flight will be killed every 20 minutes.  The film reunites Neeson with Unknown director Jaume Collet-Serra and producer Joel Silver, and co-stars Golden Globe Award winner Julianne Moore.

It’s not a bad premise actually. Just give Neeson a gun, a direction, motivation and start filming and you’re good to go. Corey Stoll, Michelle Dockery, Scoot McNairy, Lupita Nyong’O, Bar Paly, and Anson Mount also star, and the film is scheduled to land next year February.

  1. Looks good. And it will be nice to finally see something possibly match Red Eye.

Red Eye was a surprisingly effective thriller. I loved how the victim became the pursuer in the end.

It also had one of the best trailers ever.

Oh world, when will you learn. You simply don’t threaten Liam Neeson over a phone, unless you’re not too fond of your internal organs’ current configuration.

That said, this does look more like a thriller than an action film.
