Welcome to The Extras! A daily dose of all the smaller movie related news, clips and just plain cool stuff that you might have missed!

It’s a good time to be a Terminator fan, and a really bad time to have a weak grip on a boom mic in case Christian Bale ever returns. GOOD FOR YOU MATE, GOOD FOR YOU! With a new series on the way, expect production on the film to start picking up soon. And what better way to signal a new start, than with an official name for the film?

According to reports, the next Terminator film will have a Phil Collins inspiration, and will be called Terminator: Genesis.

Not to be outdone by the Amazing Spider-Man 2, the sequel to Man of Steel is looking to also up the villain count in Batman vs Superman. According to Batman on Film, Supes will slug it out with two villains from his own rogues gallery, in addition to dealing with Batman, Wonder Woman and a rumoured appearance by Lex Luthor.

VWOOORP! VWOOORP! Nope, that’s not the sound of Kervyn regretting the fact that he did not eat some bran as he breaks the toilet, but rather some fresh new images for the Matt Smith send-off on Doctor Who, The Time of the The Doctor.

What were the best TV shows of this year? According to reliable sources such as myself, Doctor Who and House of Cards would be high on that list, a view that Empire shares with their top 20 feature.

Back in the dark ages known as the early 2000s, Batman was a movie property that was in flux. Warner Bros hired a ton of creative folks to help reimagine the dark knight, with the emphasis being that whatever they produced had better not smell like Batman and Robin. One such pitch for a new Batman movie was one set in the far future of Batman Beyond. Starring a young new Tomorrow Knight and with Bruce Wayne providing support from the bat-cave, the project had the input of Paul Dini. It never materialised, but Dini had plenty to say recently to Kevin Smith about what could have been.

Frozen may not have a local release date yet, but it’s earning some rave reviews. The latest Disney film has a lot of heart and character according to those reports, that have been combined with some truly stunning animation. Don’t believe me? Here’s your first look at Denzel Washington ignoring gun safety laws as he dangles his piece, in the upcoming Equalizer from director Antoine Fuqua. That’s some calm violence that’s about to erupt.

Feel like watching Japanese people run away in terror while pointing and screaming? Then come watch me eat sushi tonight. If you’d like to see something less terrifying though, stick around tomorrow because the first proper trailer for Godzilla will be hitting the web. And in tune with the marketing spirit of the year, here’s a teaser for that teaser of a trailer.

With Wonder Woman entering the upcoming Batman vs Superman film, expect the Fotress of Solitude to potentially become the Fortress of A’Rockin’. That might leave Lois Lane herself, Amy Adams in the friendzone, something which the actress commented on:

Am I interested? I don’t know. I mean, we’ll see. I hope that I can be involved with a woman on screen where we’re not in a love triangle. That would be fun. Maybe where we team up together and we work as teammates instead of adversaries.

And to end today off, we’re going to leave you with a soap opera gaze. Or more precisely, every single stare from the Twilight franchise. Better grab some popcorn, because this is going to run for close to half an hour.
