Welcome to The Extras! A daily dose of all the smaller movie related news, clips and just plain cool stuff that you might have missed!
All right you vocal lot, the Extras will still be changing, but not by that much. Starting off today, the first Lego Movie isn’t even out yet, but Warner Bros wants a sequel right away. To do so, they’re tapping Jared “Wreck-It Ralph” to start assembling a new film right away.
Speaking of Lego, here’s a new trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, made with blocks that know that the greatest weak point of the human body is the ankle at two in the morning.
Worried that Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s overdose and death would result in your Hunger Games Mockingjay sequel being compromised? Fear not, because the actor had indeed filmed the majority of his scenes anyway. According to Lionsgate (via Variety), Hoffman had just seven days of shooting left on Mockingjay – Part 2 before he OD’ed, and had already finished shooting most of his scenes before he started shooting up his heroin.
Prepare to be beaten, at Tiny Tennis mit my bare handz little man!
Check out the cool new toys arriving in time this year for Transformers: Age of Extinction. Light our darkest hour, applicable age demographics!
Ok Marc Webb, you can stop now. Really, enough is enough. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is currently pulling in villains from every single corner of Spidey,Batman, Spawn and Richie Rich comics, and Webb has just teased another such role the sequel.
BJ Novak’s role has been revealed via Webb’s twitter account, as that of A Smythe. That could only be Alistair Smythe then, the infamous genius scientist with a talent for robotics that is more well-known as the Spider-Slayer in comics, and as that weird guy in the old cartoon who ran around with laser-firing penises on his shoulders.
It’s the latest cover of Vanity fair, showcasing the best and brightest of the current Hollywood elite circle! And even in photo form, Idris Elba is just owning everybody.
Poster of the day (That was never released but would have been freakin’ awesome):
As good as some of those Superbowl adverts were, they ain’t got nothing on this inspiring commercial that was locally produced. Give this ad a Bells!

A Jedi does not try… except for all those in Ep II that tried and failed like Bafana Bafana or English Cricket or… the Lions Rugby Union
