And for a completely different kind of awards show. The Oscars arrive on March 9, but there was one more big awards show to go. The British Film and Television Awards handed out plenty of trophies last night, to movies that had been released on that side of the pond.
Because of that release schedule, films such as Dallas Buyers Club weren’t eligible for any of those puh-rizes. Anyway, here’s who won what.
Steve McQueen’s 12 years a slave may have won Best Picture, but Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity won just about everything else, raking in six awards including best director. Cate Blanchett took another step closer to an award grand slam, as her BAFTA win for best actress complements her SAG,Critics Choice Award and Golden Globe wins. Here’s the full list:
