Godzilla (2)

There’s not much new in this third trailer for Godzilla. Once again, cities are leveled quicker than a buffet at an ANC meeting, hints are given about the existence of other non-Godzilla threats and Bryan Cranston’s mental faculties may be breaking down, bad. But dammit, each shot in this movie looks like pure art. Check it out.

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

Godzilla stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe, Bryan Cranston, Sally Hawkins, Juliette Binoche and David Strathairn. It’ll be stomping into theaters on May 16. Gareth Edwards directs.

Knowing Gareth Edwards’ previous work, and what the buzz has been from people who have seen parts of the film, I wouldn’t get my hopes up expecting another Pacific Rim. That was an incredibly fun anime brought to life, this is probably gonna be a tense, monster movie.
