Will Bradley Cooper crack the whip as the next INDIANA JONES?

Bradley-Cooper

As far as we’re concerned, there are only three Indiana Jones movies and a one-off special that featured Harrison Ford dealing with his most dangerous foe of all time, Shia Labeouf. While that apocalyptic scenario of torch-bearing will never, ever happen due to the fact that Kervyn isn’t afraid to share some of the dirt that he has on George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, one thing is a certainty. And that’s that the Indiana Jones Franchise will get a reboot. Could Bradley Cooper be the next globe-trotting archaeologist?

Don’t expect to see an Indiana Jones 5 film anytime soon. Spielberg and Lucas have been trying to get that project off the ground for years now, with no real success. The biggest hurdle however, is that depsite the magic of Hollywood, Indiana Jones himself is starting to get rather old. Harrison Ford is 71 right now, and with commitments towards the new Star Wars movies coming up, busy as well. So how do you keep the franchise alive?

Reboot baby! According to Latino Review, Bradley Cooper is on a shortlist to don the iconic fedora and take over from Ford in a new set of adventures as Disney ponders how to make use of their non-Star Wars franchise. While Disney has no story in mind yet for a potential reboot, Frank “Walking Dead” Darabont has pitched a treatment to revive the series.

Take it with a pinch of salt, and watch out for Kervyn’s rage then. I like the idea of Cooper in the lead role. He’s got the looks, is young enough and doesn’t talk like Mike Tyson just broke his jaw.

Yes, this sounds like a good idea. I never thought I’d say that – I always figured Harrison will always be Indy.

I believe this video succinctly summarizes my opinion on anybody else other than Harrison Ford playing Indiana Jones.

You’ve just set up the universe to assure that it happens. So this is technically your fault.

I actually think Cooper might be a good fit, though he’s no Ford. The thing that made Ford so utterly perfect was that he was the whole package in that he’s a bloody good actor.

He could convince as someone who taught archaeology and was steeped in academia while also being a convincing action type. He could be afraid while still remaining capable, knew how to play the humour just right, while still being perfect for the action stuff.

You’ll have a tough time finding someone else who so perfectly balances those elements.

Cooper is the only one I can think that could possibly come close, though he’s hardly anywhere near Ford.

Who was that ou who played the Lone Ranger? Armie Hammer – him maybe

Agreed on your analysis of Ford, but I still think Cooper is too babyface looking.

Ohhh, I don’t know. He’s a pretty boy and Ford wasn’t. I’l rather see Gerald Butler play him 😛

At some point, Gerrard Butler’s name was bound to come up. 😀

What about Aaron Eckhart? He’s not a pretty boy, he’s a good actor, can play the academic type (he seemed a bit clever in The Dark Knight) and he has the physical chops and he’s not too young or too old.

HAHA !! You said “physical chops” in reference to Harvey Dent!!

EDIT: Not a bad choice though, he is pretty awesome.

Agreed. Indy was only pretty when he was a youngster. The character needs a rough-ish intellectual actor.

Jason Statham. He’d fight five men with a whip and catch darts with his teeth.
