RICHARDS! When it comes to comic book villains, my favourite such character will always be Doctor Doom. He’s one of the biggest bads out there, and he’ll be busting heads in the new Fantastic Four movie, as that part has finally been cast.

Toby “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” Kebbell will be suiting up as the primary antagonist in the reboot, which also stars as Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Miles Teller as Marvel’s First Family. The role which was previously played by Julian McMahon in the Tim Story Fantastic Four movies, will have Kebbell star as Victor Von Doom, a scientific equal to Reed Richards and with an aarrogant chip on shoulder the size of Latveria.

This Doom will most likely stay in the realm of mad scientist, and far away from the more mystical side of Doctor Doom, as the Jeremy Slater and Simon Kinberg revised script takes several cues from the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic. Which isn’t a bad idea, so long as this version of Doom isn’t a goat-legged abomination or metal man with magical electrical powers.

Kebbell makes for some more solid casting on the project. After roles in Control, Dead Man’s Shoes and Guy Ritchie’s Rock ‘n Rolla, he’s proven himself to be a versatile actor. Even if the film flops, I’m expecting some solid scene-stealing performances from him. Fantastic Four starts shooting next month for the Josh Trank directed film.

  1. I don’t know why they keep rebooting when they haven’t even worked through a decent story or villains. The only one that’s getting it right so far is X-men.

Toby Kebbel is actually a good casting choice imo. He was awesome in RocknRolla and the only good thing about The Sorcerers Apprentice.

Yeah, he has a habit of being rather brilliant in some crappy movies. Let’s hope the movie lives up to him this time.
