All good things must come to an end, especially when said good things go off the rails a bit. The six seasons we’ve seen thus far of True Blood – Alan Ball’s bloody, sexy, guilty pleasure vampire show all about the misadventures of Anna Paquin’s telepathic half-fairy”Soockeh” Stackhouse, her many supernatural suitors and the complete lunacy of their little corner of Louisiana – has seen some soaring highs and admittingly embarrassing lows (is there a person alive who gave a rat’s behind about Terry’s ghost story?). But with the show getting wackier by the season, the folks at HBO realized that it’s time to wrap this (pardon the pun) sucker up, before it becomes the undisputed Bon Temps Parish Shark Jumping champion, and so have commissioned just one more 10-episode run-around.

A trailer for the show’s seventh and final season has just been unveiled, and by the looks of things, it plans to end things with a fang. I mean bang.

True Blood‘s 10-episode final season kicks off in the United States on June 28, 2014. Expect the local broadcast to follow soon thereafter.
