Good old secret agent flicks! Usually, when you think of a cultured and refined intelligence agent working for the British crown, you imagine James Bond. Thing is, the current incarnation of James Bond is a bit of a brutish chap, really. You need an agent that can be both refined and lethal when the situation calls for it. Enter the Kingsman, another flick based on a Mark Millar comic that is being adapted by Matthew Vaughn, in which one lump of chavtastic potential learns to be a modern day espionage knight.
Based upon the acclaimed comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn (“Kick-Ass,” “X-Men: First Class”), “Kingsman: The Secret Service” tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.
That looks pretty solid actually, and I’ve always dug the aesthetic style that Vaughn brings to his films. Kingsman: The Secret Service will be testing audiences to their limits on October 14. The film stars Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Michael Caine and Samuel L Jackson.
