By now, you’re either for or against the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Every generation since the late 1980s has had an incarnation of the popular half-shell heroes, and this year marks the return of the shinobi quartet to the big screen. I’m quite keen for the reimagining, if the TMNT do sort of resemble our dear president.
The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.
I’m still digging what I’m seeing so far, and hell, that even includes Megan Fox’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Thumbs. The Shredder looks ridiculously badass, the Turtles all have their trademark character intact and I’m ready to start shouting Cowabunga at the big screen when this film arrives in August. And the film might have a bit of a plot twist, if you’re keen on reading a massive spoiler through this link.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars the voices of Johnny Knoxville, Tony Shalhoub, as well as Will Arnett, Megan Fox and William Fichtner as the Shredder. Jonathan Liebesman directs.

Raphael looks like the Hulk Versions of the others. WHY? His shoulders are like twice the size of the others, like he has been on steroids. He is supposed to be the smaller faster one. I was actually keen for this until this trailer, now I’m really on the fence. It just doesn’t feel right to me, but I really hope this is awesome, gotta love Turtles!

Yeah, something also feels a bit off to me, and it’s not just the still creepy turtle faces (WHY DO THEY HAVE LIPS?!)

Looks rad. Pity about Megan Fox though.
