If there was one movie that set a new benchmark in horror, it had to be The Blair Witch Project way back in 1999. It wasn’t just an effective use of the found-footage reality style of shooting that made it so successful, but the viral marketing campaign that it ran to draw viewers in, making it a box office smash.  And now one half of that Blair Witch directing duo is returning to the big screen, with the Bigfoot-centric Exists.

For five friends, it was a chance for a summer getaway— a weekend of camping in the Texas Big Thicket. But visions of a carefree vacation are shattered with an accident on a dark and desolate country road. In the wake of the accident, a bloodcurdling force of nature is unleashed—something not exactly human, but not completely animal— an urban legend come to terrifying life…and seeking murderous revenge.

Well that certainly looks far more entertaining and factual than anything related to Sasquatch on the Discovery channel. Exists stars Samuel Davis, Chris Osborn, Dora Madison Burge, Roger Edwards, Brian Steele and Denise Williamson. Eduardo Sanchez directs.

“From the director of Blair Witch Project”
I never knew BWP had a director and more importantly, I wish it never had one, nor a script, nor a cast, nor a camera to record that schlock that forever destroyed proper film technique in every other film genre as well.
