Director Zack Snyder Talks BATMAN V SUPERMAN and AQUAMAN

Wakanda? Infinity gloves? String-cheese spouting killer robot AIs? Please, the real movie superheroes have massive parental issues backed up by a billion dollars and alienation syndrome backed up by an inconvenient exploding planet. While Marvel is getting all their new franchises ready, DC is still hard at work with the Justice League guys, and particularly Batman V Superman: Dawn of Just Ginger. The flick has been filming in Detroit as of late, but it’s headed to new locales soon. Here’s the scoop.

Batman (2)

Speaking to Detroit Radio, Snyder revealed that the cast and crew would be driving out of Motor City and into the windier parts of the USA next:

We’re getting ready to wrap it up and take off and I just wanted to say thanks to you guys for being strong supporters of the movie and coming down and saying hey. I’ve had a great time in Michigan, I just wanted to say thanks to you guys and just to Detroit itself.

We head to Chicago after this, then a couple more locations but we’re getting close, as they say. It’s a long shoot.

But don’t count Detroit out yet. Even though that city is now bankrupt enough to be eerily close to the premise of Robocop, Snyder would like to return eventually:

I feel like there’s a really good chance we’ll be back. We have a couple of established locations here that I think if we make another movie, I’m knocking on wood here, we would have to come back and shoot those. That would be fun.

And before he left, Snyder also mentioned a certain sovereign of the seas:

I think the last time I called, we talked a little bit about Aquaman, but it hadn’t been announced that Jason Momoa was gonna play Aquaman. I was trying to protect you guys from his wrath. The man is a monster. The guy is awesome and he’s so passionate. I was hanging out with him here in Detroit and he was loving on it so hard. He’s a great guy, but like I say not a small individual.

I’m digging the production of Batman V Superman so far. While this can’t speak for the final quality of the film of course, it’s nice to see Snyder interacting with the public, while playing a game of one-upmanship with Star Wars director JJ Abrams. And that’s just pretty cool.

You’ve made a not that powerful and completely ineffectual enemy today!

Isn’t that how every great super villain/nemesis starts off?
