‘Tis the time of year for Christmas decorations and carols. The arguments over Christmas movies have begun and many of us just wish we could go into hiding until the 26th, when all the madness will pass. But as they say: if you can’t beat them, brutalise them. Actor Christopher Lee is back with yet another perfect stocking stuffer: his latest death metal Christmas single!

Yes, you read right: the 92-year old actor, known for everything from Dracula to James Bond to Star Wars to Lord Of The Rings, makes heavy metal. His deep voice is the perfect match to the uncompromising riffs provided by Hedras Ramos and his crew, so this is no fake stuff, but true blooded, devil-horned (as in the hand sign) metal. And Lee has released a new single called Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing. Sadly that cannot be found for free anywhere, so here are compilation samples of his previous two death metal Christmas albums:

Yes, two Christmas albums. Lee also created normal metal albums called Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross and Charlemagne: The Omens of Death, which are more melodic but still rocking. If only Saruman used these to rally his troops in LOTR. Things may have turned out quite differently…

Lee points out that he’s already been a part of metal before he even started this career. Several metal songs have been inspired by his roles, such as Alice Cooper’s rejected theme for The Man With The Golden Gun and Iron Maiden’s The Wicker Man.
