THE FLASH and ARROW spin-off series is all about team-ups

The CW network is on a tear right now. With Arrow maturing as one of their breakout hit shows and The Flash running into all kinds of rating blockbuster hits, it seems that everything they touch turns to gold right now. Still, churning out too many comic book TV shows could water down the effect of this revived genre on the small tube. And with various characters from the aforementioned previous shows now big enough to warrant their own spin-offs, there’s a balancing act that needs to be performed.

Brave and bold

So what’s a  network to do? Why put all of the breakout characters in one show, instead of several.

According to Deadline, The CW will be developing a spin-off show that stars Brandon Routh as Arrow‘s Ray Palmer/The Atom, Wentworth Miller as The Flash villain Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, Victor Garber as Flash‘s Dr. Martin Stein (aka one half of Firestorm, which leads you to wonder where Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond is) and Caity Lotz as a yet to be confirmed character, seeing as [SPOILER ALERT!) her Canary character is sort of dead in the Arrow universe.

The series will also star three other DC Comics characters, who have yet to make an appearance on TV, with Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg producing. With the amount of acting talent confirmed, it’s unlikely that this show will need a pilot episode to get off the ground, and having Berlanti, Guggenheim and Kreisberg on board is just icing on the cake.

It’s a brave and bold move, and one that condenses an established cast into a show with its own direction. And I’m liking that approach.

This is starting to be a bit to much, i mean i dig it, just don’t know how i am supposed to divide time between work, gaming, movies ,social life and tv series’s, does anybody have some time they would like to get rid of, cause i definitely need it in the forthcoming future.

its one of the things that made comics so popular, spin offs and interaction between titles. superman casually walking into a batman comic, batman randomly coming in to tell the arrow how much doesnt like him etc.

this is just bringing that aspect to tv.
