Orphan Black is one of my favourite TV series currently airing, with Tatiana Maslany doing a stand-out job bringing the now five regularly appearing clones Sarah, Alison, Cosima, Helena (my favourite) and Rachel to life as completely different individuals. And while season 2 went a bit off the rails with over-the-top conspiracies when compared to the much tighter season 1, I’ve been waiting impatiently for season 3 – and now they’re teasing us all with their first official full-length trailer for season 3. SPOILERS for the show from here on out.
When we left, Sarah was reunited with her daughter Kira (Skyler Wexler) and had captured Rudy (Ari Millen) – who was revealed to be a male clone designed for the military as part of Project Castor. A very unstable clone, and from the trailer it appears he’s not the only one. Cosima was getting sicker with the mysterious illness that affects the clones, Alison had reconciled with her husband Donnie (Kristian Bruun) and Rachel, according to the trailer, appears to be recovering from getting an eyeful of pencil courtesy of Sarah. And Helena? Helena was betrayed by Mrs. S (Maria Doyle Kennedy) and captured by the military… and she’s pregnant.
Orphan Black season 3 starts airing on BBC America on 18 April and I, for one, can’t wait.
