When you’re a rocker as legendary as Nirvana front-man Kurt Cobain, you can bet that your afterlife is going to be filled with plenty of documentaries. So what makes Montage Of Heck special then? Well for starters, director Brett Morgan enjoyed plenty of one on one time with the friends and family of Cobain, access that other doccies failed to achieve. It’s also got some stunning animations, based on Cobain’s artwork so that’s another win right there. So come as you are, and check out the trailer for the upcoming hard rocking doccie.

From acclaimed director Brett Morgen, this first ever, fully authorised documentary feature blends Cobain’s personal archive of art, written word, music (both his most famous and some that’s never been heard), and never –before-seen home movies, with animation and revelatory interviews from his family and closest confidantes.

Following Kurt from his earliest years in Aberdeen, WA, through the height of his fame, it creates an intense and powerful cinematic insight into an artist who craved the spotlight even as he rejected the trappings of fame,
Those of Kurt’s generation will learn things about him they never knew. Those who’ve discovered the man and his music more recently will understand what makes Kurt the lasting icon that he is.

Just like the legendary frontman of Nirvana himself, COBAIN: Montage of Heck is authentic, visceral and unflinching. It will get into your head and stay there long after the end credits roll.

Montage Of Heck premiered at Sundance back in January, where audiences described it as a raucous and hard-hitting look at the troubled genius.

There’s unfortunately no mention of it on the latest theatre release schedule that we’ve received.
