Look, I know you guys. You’re keen on Terminator: Phil Collins, despite the silly title and the fact that it has Jai “The Real Deal T-800 Acting Bot” Courtney in it. But here’s the thing. You probably shouldn’t see this trailer. And that’s because it has one hell of a SPOILER inside of it.

Hell, even I didn’t see this one coming, and my movie plot-senses border on Spider-Man levels of precognitive prediction. So yeah, consider yourself warned, and if you’re a diehard Terminator film, then good luck avoiding the internet for another two and half months.

When John Connor, leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian, dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…

Sweet liquid chromium Terminators Batman! Before this trailer had been released, one rumour floating around the net was that Matt “Doctor Who” Smith would be revealed as a man/machine hybrid. Now, it turns out that its none other than John Connor himself who has upgraded himself to a post-human state, which evidently requires a little bit of the ol’ parent murder in order to facilitate this evolution.

And it’s making a pretty decent movie look actually rather damn interesting. It’s also giving the franchise a villain who may be leagues ahead of the T-1000 and T-X terminators, one who is able to merge the unstoppable killing power of a machine with the adaptive thinking of a human.

Terminator Genisys is out July 1 and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith, Michael Gladis, Sandrine Holt, J.K. Simmons, Byung-hun Lee and Dayo Okeniyi. Alan “Thor: The Dark World” Taylor directs.

Yeah that was way too much info but I’ll be damned if I’m not going to be watching it.
