Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice

Despite the fact that its clearly a continuation of the story found in Man of Steel, exploring the repercussions of all the Zod-damn destruction that went on there, don’t expect Batman v Superman to be a straight sequel to that comic book film. At least that’s what actor Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, had to say to MTV:

“I wouldn’t call this a Superman sequel. This is Batman vs. Superman so it’s a separate entity altogether. It’s introducing the Batman character and expanding upon the universe which was kicked off by Man of Steel…. Everything could change in the editing room, but as it stands it’s definitely an introduction to the character and ultimately an introduction to Justice League.”

I think that is actually a good thing. Whether it would actually change anything I am not so sure. We’ve already seen the teaser trailer and quite frankly I’m not sure what more you would need to show/change in order for it to actually be a sequel. Batman vs Superman: Brawn of Klap This Dawn of Justice takes place after the events of Man of Steel so in my mind they are interlinked much like a sequel would be.

I suppose it comes down to the focus. This time we have quite a few protagonists to follow, not just our chiseled Kryptonian. From Wonder Woman (Gale Gadot) to Aquaman (Jason Momoa) to a rather evil looking Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, the film is cramming a heck of a lot in for it to just be a sequel for one character. Have a listen to the Beard, I mean Cavill, and see what you think. He also gives us a little bit of info on his upcoming Man from U.N.C.L.E flick, which I am rather excited about.

Director Zack Snyder will also being directing Justice League – Part 1 which is expected to land 17 November 2017 after not only a solo Wonder Women film but a Suicide Squad movie too! Oh, what a Marvellous world, I mean DC. My bad.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to punch and batarang its way to the movies on 25 March 2016.
