Yes, readers it’s that time again when we get to give you stuff, for FREE! I even cut my holiday short (not really) just so I could get this competition ready in time for your return to work after the long weekend. Thanks to the folks at Time Media Films we have 5 bundles of goodies to give away that include the Child 44 original novel from Tom Rob Smith and a rather awesome black notebook to scrawl your enemies’ names in.
Child 44 is the new movie from director Daniel Espinosa (Safe House) and stars Tom Hardy, Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman and Noomi Rapace. Here’s some more info on the Soviet era movie along with a trailer:
A politically-charged serial killer thriller set in 1953 Soviet Russia, CHILD 44 chronicles the crisis of conscience for secret police agent Leo Demidov (TOM HARDY), who loses status, power and home when he refuses to denounce his own wife, Raisa (NOOMI RAPACE), as a traitor. Exiled from Moscow to a grim provincial outpost, Leo and Raisa join forces with General Mikhail Nesterov (GARY OLDMAN) to track down a serial killer who preys on young boys. Their quest for justice threatens a system-wide cover-up enforced by Leo’s psychopathic rival Vasili (JOEL KINNAMAN), who insists “There is no crime in Paradise.”
Sounds interesting! Our very own Kervyn attended the press preview last week and we’ll have his review up soon so watch this space.
So, what do you have to do to enter? Simply enter here. Please note that this competition is valid for South African residents only and that we will contact you (via your VALID email) for your address should you win. We’ll announce winners on Friday 8 May, which is also when the movie débuts, so if you like thrillers then make sure you book your tickets now!
Once again thanks to Times Media Films for some great goodies!

Actually going to a screening of this tonight! Looking forward to it – really looks like it could be quite an interesting thriller (and I love thrillers!).

I slept with the manager… What?! She’s cute!! :p
Lol. Seriously though, Channel 24. Had a sms comp. Got tickets through that. Was really good – I rather enjoyed it. The ending was a little predictable for me, but other than that, it was a really good movie with a thoroughly absorbing story.

I hope Gary Oldman plays a stern, evil bastard of a military officer.
