Whether you consider him a visionary or a copy-cat tyrant, there’s very little doubt that late Apple boss Steve Jobs had a significant impact on modern society and its technology. Which is certainly a lot more than can said of jObs, the rather lacklustre 2013 movie that tried to tell the controversial figure’s life story but ended up quite ho-hum, with the only major takeaway being that Ashton Kutcher is clearly some kind of eerie Steve Jobs clone.

But now Hollywood is at it again with Steve Jobs, only this time the pedigree of filmmakers trying to tell Jobs’ tale is much higher as we see Oscar winning director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire) working off a script from Oscar winning writer Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, The West Wing), directing the Oscar nominated Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class, Shame) as Jobs himself, while he co-stars with Oscar winner Kate Winslet (Titanic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), multiple Golden Globe nominated Jeff Daniels and, well, Seth Rogen (Damn it, Rogen up your awards game!).

And after just seeing a few pics earlier in the year, the first teaser trailer for Steve Jobs is now finally here! While it doesn’t really go into the movies intriguing, stage play-like narrative structure – it focuses just on the behind-the-scenes goings-on at three big product launches in Jobs’ career – it does give us a solid look at Fassbender in the eponymous role, as well as hearing his cohorts thoughts about him and how he viewed himself.

Yes, the trailer doesn’t show much at all, but with the amount of talent involved here, consider me very iNtrigued intrigued.

Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, STEVE JOBS takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.

Steve Jobs also stars Katherine Waterston, Sarah Snook and Michael Stuhlbarg. It is scheduled for release on October 9, 2015.
