One of the big revelations for Jack Black’s Po in the Kung Fu Panda films was that he was in fact not the son of James Hong’s Mr. Ping. You may think that the fact that Po is a panda and Mr. Ping is a goose could have clued them him into something, but as has been shown several times throughout the previous two Oscar-nominated movies, Po may have become a kung fu master but he’s definitely not the sharpest katana in the shed.
And as you can see from this first funny trailer for Kung Fu Panda 3, it would appear that Po’s bluntness may just be hereditary as he comes face to face with his real father – voiced by Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston – for the very first time.
When Po’s long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible—learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!
Kung Fu Panda 3 also stars the voice talents of Gary Oldman, Dustin Hoffman, David Cross, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Yeoh, Mads Mikkelsen, Danny McBride, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, Jackie Chan, and Rebel Wilson. It is scheduled for release on January 29, 2016.
