Okay, Universe! I get it! I really need to watch 2006 cult classic comedy Wet Hot American Summer! I mean the brilliantly goofy and retro teaser trailer for Netflix’s planned TV series prequel Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp already had me convinced that I had missed out on a wacky gem, and that preview barely even showed any actual footage.
Now comes the first full trailer for First Day of Camp and it’s filled with so much off-the-wall hilarious randomness and tomfoolery that I would feel even more terrible about my oversight for David Wain’s original comedy if it wasn’t for the fact that I’m still laughing out loud at some of the (admittedly dumb) shenanigans pulled off here by such professional jokesters like Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Janeane Garofalo, Jo Lo Truglio and more.

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp also stars Elizabeth Banks, H. Jon Benjamin, Michael Ian Black, Nina Hellman, David Hyde Pierce, Ken Marino, AD Miles, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Marisa Ryan, Molly Shannon and Michael Showalter. It will debut all 8-episodes on Netflix on July 31.
