Way before he became a four-time Oscar nominated Hollywood megastar (also a gun-toting raccoon in outer space), Bradley Cooper was just that funny chef guy from Kitchen Confidential. And for his next movie, it looks like he’s going back to his fake-culinary roots.

Burnt sees Cooper as a former bad boy rockstar chef – because yes, we live in a world where that’s a legitimate thing (Thanks, Gordon Ramsay!) – who wants reclaim his former glory by putting together a team of cooking masterminds and building the ultimate restaurant, despite his incendiary personality. It’s sort of like The Avengers but with souffle’s instead of superpowers. Also quite a few emotional meltdowns apparently, as you can see in this star-studded first trailer.

Chef Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) had it all – and lost it. A two-star Michelin rockstar with the bad habits to match, the former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene did everything different every time out, and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star though, he’ll need the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene (Sienna Miller). BURNT is a remarkably funny and emotional story about the love of food, the love between two people, and the power of second chances.

Burnt was directed by John Wells (Company Men) and sees Cooper teaming up with his American Sniper co-star Sienna Miller, alongside a who’s-who of young up-and-coming talent and older veterans in Omar Sy, Alicia Vikander, Daniel Bruhl, Lily James, Jamie Dornan, Emma Thompson and Uma Thurman. It is scheduled for release on October 23. 2015.
