Spies, spies everywhere! Well, only at the top. There is also something for you choir and teenage romance lovers too…

The top performer remains Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, retaining its top spot for a third week in a row. It still needs to claw itself into the series’ top three performers, but this may just keep the pace and end up on top.

Entering at the second spot is the Man From U.N.C.L.E., suitably another modern adaptation from a classic spy-action TV series. Will it hold and give Guy Richie’s career some new momentum?

Uncle

Minions stands strong at third, robbed from taking a step up by U.N.C.L.E.‘s debut. But if that falters, the yellow critters might still get back into the top 2.

The Fantastic Four dropped two spots, now at fourth. It may be on its way to a big exit. On the other hand, some poorly received movies can do surprisingly well. But more on that later.

Entering the chart at fifth is Paper Towns, a teenage romcom/drama about a boy looking for the girl who stole his heart after a night of pranking.

Trainwreck, the comedy about a hard-nosed reported who falls for Bill Hader, slips one spot to sixth. It’s not doing too badly so far for a comedy on the local charts.

A bit of a surprise is the fall of Antman. Despite great buzz and reviews, it plunged a painful three spots since last week and now settles for seventh. The movie is a so-so hit, making back its production, but failing to even earn the top 10 Marvel earners.

Debuting at eight is Boychoir. Take your usual ‘good teacher helping misguided student’ yarn, but put it in a choir. This formula tends to work well and with someone like Dustin Hoffman involved, it has to be at least marginally good.

At number nine, and speaking earlier of bad movies doing pretty well, Pixels is still around! Hey, people love Adam Sandler. It’s still a bit of a flop, but not a big one.

Finally, at tenth is Woman in Gold, the drama about a painting stolen by the Nazis. This must have shown the best sticking power of the year so far for a movie of this kind (i.e. not filled with explosions, teenage drama or special effects), charting for three or four weeks.
