When I first saw the trailer for director Breck Eisner’s (The CraziesThe Last Witch Hunter I thought okay, this could be fun, but probably in the same sense that Seventh Son was fun (want to know what I thought of that… Go ahead). However, after watching this new trailer I am really damn excited about it! It looks like a mix between Inception, Blade and The Matrix and that cannot be a bad thing. Some serious CGI has been used in the creation of the movie and I hope against all things that it won’t mean the story suffers. I won’t delay your viewing pleasure, have a watch. Also, Vin Diesel has a beard (looks like a bigger version of Travis Fimmel in Vikings).

The modern world holds many secrets, the most astounding being that witches still live among us. Centuries ago, Kaulder (Vin Diesel) managed to slay the all-powerful Queen Witch, decimating her followers in the process. Before her death, she cursed the valiant warrior with her own immortality, separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife. Her resurrection now threatens the survival of the human race as Kaulder, the only one of his kind remaining, faces her vengeful wrath.

Tell me that doesn’t look awesome! I mean it has witches, flames, flame swords, and Vin Diesel scaring ‘You know nothing, John Snow’ while she takes a selfie with him! Yes, it has the lovely raven-headed Rose Leslie in and that’s enough for me to watch it. It also has that other bloke, what’s his face, oh, Michael Caine and Elijah Woods so not a bad start. It would be great if the movie takes off and can start its own series of movies. Diesel is massive hot property right now so that is a big possibility. A pity he wasn’t so big when the Chronicles of Riddick movies were made…

Expect heads to roll 23 October.

A, cough, heads up. We may have an early Christmas present for our loyal readers in regards to The Last Witch Hunter. Make sure you keep an eye out.
