What if the dinosaurs had never vanished? What if they had stuck around, and that asteroid had missed the planet entirely? Contrary to what Cadillacs And Dinosaurs taught us as kids, I doubt that we’d be rolling around in classic muscle cars and getting into wacky hijinks every week.

Because a rat problem is nothing compared to a slight T-Rex infestation in your hood. While The Good Dinosaur isn’t looking that far ahead into the future, it’s still wondering what life would be like between humans and dinosaurs. Probably tasty I think. For one dominant species at least:

“The Good Dinosaur” asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.

The first trailer was a piece of digital beauty. This international one? It’s sort of odd to hear the beasties…talking. Still, Pixar has a knack of always managing to choose the right voice actors for their projects, so I’m keen to hear more.

The Good Dinosaur is out on November 25 in the states and stars the voices of the voices of Raymond Ochoa, Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn,A.J. Buckley, Anna Paquin, Sam Elliott, Frances McDormand, Marcus Scribner, and Jack Bright. Locally, we’ll have to wait until January 29 next year before we see Cretaceous Park.
